Description

We begin with this volume the edition of the Lamentations for the Holy Week by José de Torres (1670-1738), organist and later chapel master of the Royal Chapel of Madrid. Among these lamentations are some of the composer's most ambitious works. In this first volume we bring together the two lamentations by Torres dated in 1720. Both are currently kept in the music archive of the Royal Palace of Madrid, from the collection of the Royal Chapel.
