José Herrando (ca. 1720-1763) was one of the most famous Spanish violinists of his time. Nowadays he is well-known for his violin method and violin works, although he also composed scenic music for the public theaters in Madrid. Herrando joined in 1760 the Royal Chapel of Madrid as a violinist. Precisely in this year Herrando published his Tres dúos nuevos. It is an ambitious work in wich virtuosity is mixed with the compositional skill.
