Baset | Overtures and Symphonies

Vicente Baset was a Valencian violinist who worked in Madrid in the middle of 18th century. Around 1740-1750 he played the violin in the Real Orquesta del Coliseo del Buen Retiro during the royal celebrations organized by Farinelli. He was violinist in the theatre company of María Hidalgo until his death in 1764. The overtures and symphonies published in this volume were copied for Carl Leuhusen, Secretary of the Ambassador of Sweden in Madrid from 1752 to 1755.
