The symphony by Ramón Carnicer that we publish in this volume was composed around 1818, probably for one of the Barcelona revivals of the opera Agnese (1809) by Ferdinando Paër, whose title would be Spanishized as La Inés. The Symphony of the opera La Inés already responds without exception - unlike the Symphony in D major (ca. 1815), his other overture of youth known -, both formally and harmonically, to the archetypal model of Rossini's overture.

Orchestra: piccolo, flute, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, bassoon, 2 French horns, 2 trumpets, trombone, violins, violas, cellos and double basses.

Movements: Largo – Allegro Spiritoso
