Carlos Canobbio was a violinist and composer born in Venice around 1741. He worked in Madrid as the first violinist of the Opera of the Royal Sites during the 1770s. In Venice, Canobbio partnered with Luigi Marescalchi in a fruitful publishing endeavor, which included a new edition of his duets. In 1779, he moved to Saint Petersburg, where he worked as first violinist and composer alongside Giovanni Paisiello. Canobbio passed away in that city in 1822.
