This volume includes the sonatas for harpsichord or fortepiano by José Teixidor y Barceló (ca. 1751-ca. 1811), organist of the Royal Chapel, as well as composer and important musical theorist. Five of them are part of a group entitled "Sonatas de clave" and were perhaps composed in 1775 for the Infante Don Gabriel de Borbón. Another sonata, written in three movements, was announced in the Madrid press in 1794.
