In the present volume we continue with the edition of Sebastián Durón's scenic music, publishing the partially sung zarzuela Salir el Amor del mundo with anonymous text. The work must have been made for the birthday of the mother of Queen Mariana of Neoburg, Elizabeth Amalia of Hesse-Darmstadt, which was celebrated on March 20. It is also proposed that the zarzuela could have been performed in the spring of 1697, since in the Loa -whose libretto has not been located- alludes to the “improvement” of Charles II and we have several testimonies that the king's health improved at the end of March of that year.
