Navas | Sacred works in romance language

In the present volume, a selection of sacred works in the vernacular by Juan de Navas (1647–1719)—who served as harpist of the Royal Chapel—is published. This volume does not aim to offer a complete edition of this composer’s sacred output, given the difficulties involved in accessing certain archives and in obtaining permission for reproduction and transcription. The objective is therefore more modest: to make available to musicians reliable transcriptions prepared directly from the sources that have been consulted.
